AIM from Gmail. Fo’ rizzle.

December 5, 2007

For those of you who aren’t hip to new shit… (translation: who don’t follow geek news), here’s a quick tip for jumping on AIM from pretty much anywhere.

If you happen to use GoogleTalk on Gmail, AND AIM to instant message with people, click on “options” at the bottom of your “Chat” bar, to the far left on your main page for Gmail.

There, you will find a new option to log in to your AIM Instant Messenger account.

Basically, you won’t have to screw with other people’s iChat settings, or leave your AIM name behind when you go from computer to computer. Just use your GoogleTalk when you’re not on your own ‘puter. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy.

Here’s an article about it on Gizmodo.
